ADMISSION NOTIFICATION NO. 2/2019, DATED 25.05.2019

 

ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE COURSES, 2019-20

 

 

In accordance with the Govt. Order No. 804-Edn(CS), dated 13.05.2019 and the Calcutta University Notification No. CUS/lll(Cir.)/19, dated 14.05.2019, it is notified for the general information of all concerned that the Admission Process for admission to the undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) courses, 2019-20 (Semesterized) will start immediately after the publication of results of the Higher Secondary Examination, 2019 conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.  Those who seek admission must apply ONLINE through the college website: https://www.dacollege.org followed by payment of Application Processing Fee @Rs.150.00 + Bank Charge (if applicable) per application (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Honours/General/Major). The online application for admission will be closed at 11-59 pm on 07.06.2019.

The complete merit-based list of valid applicants and 1st Admission list will be available on the college website on 10th June, 2019 after 06-30 p.m. The applicants enlisted for admission (1st Merit List, 2nd Merit List and so on) will be allowed to pay fees online from 12th June, 2019 onwards [specific date and time for payment of admission fees will be mentioned in the respective admission list(s)].

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses, 2019-20 [C.U. Notification No. CSR/64/17, dt. 14.09.2017]:

 

The students to be admitted in 2019-20 in B.A./B.Sc. (Hons./General/Major) and B.Com (Hons./General) shall follow Semesterised Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Under the system, every student will have to take six Semester Examinations spanning a period of five years.

 

 

 

Those who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2014 and onwards (i.e., in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year (1st semester) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

 

1.For General (=Pass) Courses

Passed 10+2 level examination of recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100

 

2.For Honours (=Advance) Courses

2.1. For candidates belonging to General Category

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·        Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

OR

 

·        Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject

 

OR

 

·        Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidate has not  studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are fulfilled

2.2. For candidates belonging to Reserved  Categories **

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·   Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)

·        at least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

N.B. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

3. Norms for admission to the General (Pass) Courses     (Through Merit Lists only)

6. Admission rules for candidates from Vocational Streams & Open Schooling system

 

Such applicants are advised to contact the college through email (oicdac@gmail.com) between 03/06/2019 and 04/06/2019 for any clarification before filling in application form online. Any communication beyond 04/06/2019 will not be entertained in this regard.

 

7. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC(A)/OBC(B)/PwD applicants will be as per Government rules now in force [vide Govt. Order No. 7-Edn(U), dt. 02.01.2014 & 746-L, dt. 30.04.2013]

   

8. Instructions for Online submission of applications:

 

A. AN ONLINE APPLICATION IS VALID ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF  APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE @RS.150.00 PER COURSE/STREAM (Honours/General/Major) + BANK CHARGE (if any).

 

B. APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ONLINE THROUGH THE COLLEGE WEBSITE: https://www.dacollege.org. THEY ARE TO FOLLOW EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS CAREFULLY.

1. Select Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) from the dropdown list.

2. Select Course name from the dropdown list you want to apply

3. Select Subject Combination from the dropdown list for the course you applied.

4. Select Generic Electives (GE1, GE2, GE3, and GE4 ) from the dropdown list [for candidates applying in B.A./B.Sc. (Hons./Major)

5. Select one of the three subjects as Generic Elective (GE) except  ENGG, BNGG [for candidates applying in B.A.(General)]

  6. Click on "Validate Eligibility" button.

Caution!

Before submission of application online, check all entries carefully. Edit if any mistake is noticed and then submit your application online. Please note that NO CORRECTION is allowed after submission of the application online. IN CASE YOU DISCOVER ANY MISTAKE AFTER SUBMISSION, APPLY AFRESH

 3. After checking carefully all the information in the PREVIEW window, Click on the Check box followed by "I hereby declare that the details furnished above are true & correct to the best of my knowledge & belief." and click on the Close button to return to the main window.

Finally click on the Submit Application button.

A Reference Sheet containing Application No. will appear on the screen

Take a print out of the ‘Reference Sheet’ for all future reference

Now make payment of Application Fees + Bank Charges as instructions printed below (Para 9)

 

 

 

 

9. PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE + BANK CHARGE

 

On clicking the Pay Application Fee button, the system will redirect to the payment gateway where the applicant has to choose the payment option (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking) and pay the application fee @Rs.150.00  PER COURSE/STREAM (Honours/General/Major) + bank charge.

 

After successful payment, the bank gateway will redirect the applicant to another page where the applicant will be able to take the print out of the system generated application form. If for any reason, you are unable to get System-Generated Application Form after successful payment, report to the college through e-mail oicdac@gmail.com mentioning a valid mobile number latest by 7th June, 2019.

 

 

Applicants are advised not to click the BACK button or RELOAD/REFRESH the page at this stage.

 

 

If for any technical reason the process of payment fails, the applicant will be able to make payment after some time through another link provided on the college web site  by using the Application Number previously saved by the applicant (generated by the system after step-VI).
