ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE COURSES, 2018-19

 

In accordance with the Calcutta University Notification No. CUS/328/18, dated 18.05.2018 read with Notification No. CUS/358(Cir.)/18, dated 06.06.2018 and the Government of West Bengal Order No.  612/Edn(CS)10/M-95/14, dated 01.06.2018, it is notified for the general information of all concerned that the Admission Process for admission to the 1st Yr. undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) courses, 2018-19 will start immediately after the publication of results of the Higher Secondary Examination, 2018 conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and will close at 11-59 pm on 17/06/2018. Those who seek admission must apply ONLINE through the college website: https://www.dacollege.org followed by payment of Application Processing Fee @Rs.150.00 + Bank Charge Per Course/Stream (Honours/General/Major).

 

While the entire merit list and 1st Admission list will be available on the college website on 20th June, 2018 after 06-30 p.m., the applicants will be admitted on and from 22nd June, 2018 as per Merit Lists.

 

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses, 2018-19 [C.U. Notification No. CSR/3/18 dt. 07.05.2018, CSR/4/18, dt. 07.05.2018, CSR/64/17, dt. 14.09.2017 and CSR/10/18, dt. 30.05.2018]

 

The students to be admitted in 2018-19 and onwards in B.A./B.Sc. (Hons./General) shall follow Semesterise Choice Based Credit System. Under the system, every student will have to take six Semester Examinations spanning a period of five years. While a student pursuing Honours course of study shall have to clear 26 papers of 100 marks each, students pursuing General course of study shall clear 24 papers of 100 marks each. The semesterised Choice Based Credit System is already in practice for B.Com. (Hons./General) courses of study from 2017-18.

 

 

 

Those who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2013 and onwards (i.e., in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

1.For General (=Pass) Courses

Passed 10+2 level examination of recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100

 

2.For Honours (=Advance) Courses

2.1. For candidates belonging to General Category

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·        Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

OR

 

·        Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject

 

OR

 

·        Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidate has not  studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are fulfilled

2.2. For candidates belonging to Reserved  Categories **

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·   Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)

·        at least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

N.B. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

6. Admission rules for candidates from Vocational Streams & Open Schooling system

 

Such applicants are advised to contact the Principal between 11/06/2018 and 12/06/2018 before filling in application form online.

 

7. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC(A)/OBC(B)/PwD applicants will be as per Government rules now in force [vide Govt. Order No. 7-Edn(U), dt. 02.01.2014 & 746-L, dt. 30.04.2013]

   

8. Instructions for Online submission of applications:

 

A. AN ONLINE APPLICATION IS VALID ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF  APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE @RS.150.00 PER COURSE/STREAM (Honours/General/Major) + BANK CHARGE.

 

B. Applicants may apply for multiple courses/streams (Honours/General) in a single application.

 

C. APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ONLINE THROUGH THE COLLEGE WEBSITE: https://www.dacollege.org. THEY ARE TO FOLLOW  EACH OF THE STEPS MENTIONED BELOW.

After redirecting to the online admission portal accept the norms by clicking on the "I Understood and agree to" Checkbox and then click on the continue button.

Fill Personal information such as Mobile No., Aadhar No., First name, Last name, Category (GEN/SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B), Roll No. etc.

click on the next button.

 

 

 Step-III

 Class [10+2] Mark Sheet Entry:

Step-IV

 Under Graduate Course Selection & Validation of Eligibility:

1. Select Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) from the dropdown list.

2. Select Course name from the dropdown list you want to apply

3. Select Subject Combination from the dropdown list for the course you applied.

  4. Click on "Validate Eligibility" button to add it in your application if you are eligible for it.

At this stage (point 2, 3 & 4) you can apply to as many courses you wish to apply subject to your eligibility by way of repeating actions 2, 3 & 4

Upload Documents & Preview information:

1. Upload a recent passport size scanned image of the applicant having light background in jpeg format (3.5 X 2.5 cm), image file size should not exceed 50 KB.

 2. Upload scanned signature of the applicant in white paper in jpeg format (1.5 X 5.0 cm), image file size should not exceed 50 KB.

3. Upload Admit Card (10th) for age proof, Mark Sheet (10+2) in PDF/jpeg format and Social category certificate (if applicable).

4. Click on Preview Application button to preview for checking and  correcting, if needed

YOU MUST HAVE REMEMBER THAT NO CORRECTION WILL BE MADE POSSIBLE AFTER FINAL SUBMISSION AND YOUR APPLICATION MAY STAND CANCEL FOR ANY FALSE/INCORRECT DATA.

 5. After checking carefully all the information in the PREVIEW window, Click on the Check box followed by "I hereby declare that the details furnished above are true & correct to the best of my knowledge & belief." and click on the Close button to return to the main window.

Finally click on the Submit Application button.

A Reference Sheet containing Application No. will appear on the screen

Take a print out of the ‘Reference Sheet’ for all future reference

Now make payment of Application Fees + Bank Charges as instructions printed below (Para 9)

 

 

 

 

9. PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE + BANK CHARGE

 

On clicking the Pay Application Fee button, the system will redirect to the payment gateway where the applicant has to choose the payment option (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking) and pay the application fee @Rs.150.00  PER COURSE/STREAM (Honours/General/Major) + bank charge.

After successful payment, the bank gateway will redirect the applicant to another page where the applicant will be able to take the print out of the system generated application form. If for any reason, you are unable to get System-Generated Application Form after successful payment, report personally to the college latest by 18th June, 2018 within 12.00 noon.

 

Applicants are advised not to click the BACK button or RELOAD/REFRESH the page at this stage.

 

 

If for any technical reason the process of payment fails, the applicant will be able to make payment after some time through another link provided on the college web site  by using the Application Number previously saved by the applicant (generated by the system after step-VI).
