ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE COURSES, 2017-18

 

In accordance with the Calcutta University Notification No. CS/1081/Adm.(Cir.), dt. 05/05/2017 and the Government of West Bengal Order No.  500/Edn(CS), dated 08.05.2017, it is notified for the general information of all concerned that the Admission Process for admission to the 1st Yr. undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) courses, 2017-18 will start immediately after the publication of results of the Higher Secondary Examination, 2017 conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and will close at 04-00 pm on 10/06/2017. Those who seek admission must apply ONLINE through the college website: https://www.dacollege.org followed by payment of Application Processing Fee @Rs.150.00 + Bank Charge Per Application.

 

While the merit position of individual applicants will be available on the college website on 16th June, 2017 after 04-30 p.m., the applicants will be admitted on and from 21st June, 2017 as per Merit Lists to be published prior to the dates of admission in individual subjects/courses.

 

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses, 2017-18 [C.U. Notification No. CS/1081/Adm.(Cir.), dt. 05.05.2017]

 

Those who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2012 and onwards (i.e., in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

1.For General (=Pass) Courses

Passed 10+2 level examination of recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100

 

2.For Honours (=Advance) Courses

2.1. For candidates belonging to General Category

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·        Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

OR

 

·        Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject

 

OR

 

·        Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidate has not  studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are fulfilled

2.2. For candidates belonging to SC /ST  Categories

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·   Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)

·        at least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

N.B. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

 

3. Norms for admission to the General (Pass) Courses     (Through Merit Lists only)

** Marks in compulsory Environmental studies/Education will not be cosidered/taken into account for the calculation of aggregate marks. However, if the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for  determining the aggregate marks

6. Admission rules for candidates from Vocational Streams & Open Schooling system

 

Such applicants are advised to contact the Principal between 07/06/2017 and 09/06/2017 before filling in application form online.

 

7. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC(A)/OBC(B)/PwD applicants will be as per Government rules now in force

   

8. Instructions for Online submission of applications:

 

A. AN ONLINE APPLICATION IS VALID ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF  APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE @RS.150.00 PER APPLICATION + BANK CHARGE.

 

B. Separate application is to be made online for each of the courses/streams (Honours/General):

 

C. APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ONLINE THROUGH THE COLLEGE WEBSITE: https://www.dacollege.org. THEY ARE TO FOLLOW  EACH OF THE STEPS MENTIONED BELOW.   AN APPLICANT MUST VALIDATE EVERY STEP AFTER COMPLETING IT.

 

 

 

Step-I

 

 

Personal information such as Name, Father’s Name, Address, Phone No, Category(GEN/SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B) etc.

 

 

 Step-II

 Data relating to 10+2 level examination (Roll No., Marks etc.)

 

 

Step-III

 Shift (Morning/Day), Course/Subject and Combination of subjects etc.

 

 

 

Step-IV

 

1. Upload a recent passport size scanned image of the applicant having light background in jpeg format (3.5 X 2.5 cm), image file size should not exceed 20 KB.

 2. Upload scanned signature of the applicant in white paper in jpeg format (1.5 X 5.0 cm), image file size should not exceed 15 KB.

 

 

 

D. After completing Step-IV, the applicant must put √ (tick) mark against the appropriate box for declaration and SUBMIT.

 

9. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FEES + BANK CHARGE

 

On clicking the submission button, the system will generate a report. Take the printout of the same and produce it to below mentioned Axis Bank branches for payment of Application Fee @Rs.150.00 per application + Bank Charge @Rs. 10.00 (i.e. Rs. 160/-) per application.

After payment of above fees to the designated branches of Axis Bank, the application process shall be completed.

 

ONLINE APPLICATION IS VALID ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE @RS.150.00 PER APPLICATION + BANK CHARGES @RS. 10.00 (i.e. RS. 160/-) TO THE DESIGNATED BRANCHES OF AXIS BANK.

 

 

Candidates are advised to check their payment status from 16:30 hours of 14/06/2017 to 12:30 hours of 15/06/2017 at the given link in the college website. They are also advised to report to college on 15/06/2017 till 15:00 hours for any discrepancy failing which college will not be responsible for any discrepancy.
