Aim and Objective:

The college aspires at an all-round development of its students. It not only nurtures the process of upbringing the academic standards but also inculcates the spirit of moral, cultural and intellectual faculties among the students of to-day, so that they could be transformed into proficient and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

The college also educates its students to generate the sense of discipline, mutual co-operation, sense of social responsibilities, loveable attitudes more specially towards the weaker and disadvantaged section of the community.

The college authority acts and moves in unison. all the major decisions taken by the college administration is merely a reflection of collective decisions made by the teachers, non-teaching staffs and students.

The absolute academic and serene atmosphere that predominate in the college premises is in conformity with the present notable improvement in the educational scenario of the state. As such, a huge number of students have earned honours and distinctions in the academic and co-curricular activities.

One shall be pleased to know that the college has earned the distinction of the best

institution in the district in respect of undeviating academic performance in the  University examinations over a decade.

When the U.G.C. was contemplating to introduce Post Graduate (PG) course in the under graduate colleges in this State, the Governing Body of the college took initiative for introducing PG courses in this institution. The college authority acordingly approached the D.P.I., West Bengal for introduction of PG courses.

The Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal and the Calcutta University authorities were gracious enough to provide necessary permission for activation of PG course in Zoology from the academic session 2000-2001, and in Electronic Science from the academic session 2006-2007 thus fulfilling the cherished desire of the students to prosecute with their higher studies in this institution.

The college authority strongly feels that the institution has achieved this unique feat because of sincere dedication, consistent and meaningful efforts of the teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

The college authority firmly believes that with the co-operation of all concerned they would be able to negotiate with the emerging challenges more valiantly in near future to disseminate the scope of higher education in this vast hinterland.
