Admission Procedure
Admission
is made on the basis of merit and as direct (subjected by the norms of C.U.). Application for admission to Degree Courses have
to be made on the prescribed forms to be had from the college office by the
dates fixed for the purpose. Forms will be issued on the production of the
original mark-sheet of the last qualifying public examination, on the result of
which admission is made. At the next stage the Admission Form duly filled in and
accompanied with necessary certificates and copies of mark-sheet etc. has to be
submitted and prescribed fees have to be paid to the office fixed for the
purpose.
The following
documents in original are to be presented at the time of admission :
Degree Course in
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.
i.
Mark-sheet and certificate of the last qualifying Public
Examination.
ii.
Admit card of the Madhyamik/H.S. or other equivalent
examinations where date of birth is mentioned.
Academic
Session and Vacations
The
academic session commences from July every year and ends in the next June.
The Vacations are as follows :
Autumn Vacation
: Normally from Sasthi of the Durgapuja to Bhatri-Dwitya.
Summer Recess :
Normally from the 16th May to 30th June.
Winter Recess :
Normally from the 25th December to 31st December.
Class Attendance :
As
per regulations of the Calcutta University a student must attend 75% of classes
actually held during each session to be eligible to appear at the University
examination as a regular candidate, if the attendance of the student remains
less than 75% but not less than 60% of the total number of classes actually held
in one or more subjects, he/she may, however, be allowed to appear at the
University examinations as a non-collegiate at the discretion of the University
authorities.
Students
who for some reasons fail to attend classes for three consecutive days must
produce an excuse-letter from their parents/guardians to the Principal of the
college.
Students
will be sternly dealt for long and repeated absences without sufficiently valid
reason.
